Getting Started

Reformer Pilates is a form of low-impact, full-body exercise performed on a machine called a reformer.

The reformer uses:

  • Springs for resistance
  • A sliding carriage for controlled movement
  • Straps and bars to support different exercises

This allows for a workout that improves:

  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Core stability
  • Posture

Reformer Pilates is known for being both effective and joint-friendly.

Yes, CORE.FORM is suitable for beginners.

We recommend starting with an orientation workout, with an Intro Pack to build confidence and familiarity

Our instructors will guide you at your own pace.

All new clients must begin with our Orientation Workout.

This introductory class helps you:

  • Understand the class format
  • Learn how to use the reformer safely
  • Practice key techniques to get the most out of every session

If you have prior Reformer Pilates experience, please
contact us to discuss your suitability for skipping the orientation.

Yes, the Orientation Workout is compulsory for all new CORE.FORM clients.

It allows our instructors to:

  • Assess your movement and technique
  • Understand your goals and experience level
  • Identify any modifications needed for safety and effectiveness

This ensures your classes are both safe and personalised from the start.

Yes. We offer a New Client Intro Pack:

  • 6 classes for $60
  • Valid for 14 days from your first visit

This is the best way to experience CORE.FORM and start building consistency from the beginning.

For your Reformer Pilates class, we recommend bringing:

  • Comfortable, form-fitting activewear (avoid any loose fitting activewear as it can get caught in the reformer
  • Hair tie or clip (if needed)
  • Socks (compulsory for safety and hygiene; grip socks are also available for purchase in-studio)
  • Water bottle
  • Sweat towel
  • Please arrive 5–10 minutes early so your instructor can welcome you and answer any questions
  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you may not be able to join the class
  • Classes run for 45 minutes
  • Group classes have a maximum of 15 participants

Arriving early ensures you feel comfortable and ready to begin.

The minimum age to attend CORE.FORM Reformer Pilates classes is 14 years old.

In many cases, you can continue Reformer Pilates during pregnancy, particularly in the early stages.

At CORE.FORM:

  • You may continue your usual classes during the first trimester (up to 14 weeks), provided you feel comfortable
  • From 14 weeks onwards, you can book into the pre & post natal classes, which are specifically designed for women throughout their entire pregnancy.
  • Our instructors can provide appropriate modifications to support a safe and effective workout

Please inform our team as early as possible so we can tailor your experience and ensure you are fully supported throughout your pregnancy.

For health and safety reasons, babies and children are not permitted in the studio during classes.

If this is an important consideration for you, we encourage you to speak with our team. We are always open to feedback and may explore dedicated sessions or alternative options where possible.

CORE.FORM is designed to offer a more supported, structured, and personalised Reformer Pilates experience.

What sets us apart:

  • A fully guided class experience: every movement is supported by expert instructors, alongside clear on-screen and audio guidance — so you always know what to do and how to do it.
  • Hands-on, expert coaching: with the guidance taken care of, our instructors can focus on what matters most — you — providing posture correction, encouragement, and personalised support throughout the class.
  • Structured, progressive programming: our method follows a clear, progressive approach designed to build strength, improve mobility, and deliver consistent, long-term results.
  • A calm, confidence-building environment: train in a supportive space where you can move at your own pace — without pressure, overwhelm, or feeling exposed.

At CORE.FORM, every class is designed to help you move with confidence, build strength, and feel supported every step of the way.

With regular practice, Reformer Pilates can deliver noticeable improvements in both how you look and how you feel.

Many clients experience:

  • Increased core strength and overall muscle tone
  • Improved posture and alignment
  • Greater flexibility and mobility
  • Enhanced body awareness and control
  • Reduced tension and a stronger mind–body connection

Results will vary depending on your consistency and goals, but many clients begin to feel a difference within a few weeks.

At CORE.FORM, our focus on technique and progressive programming is designed to help you achieve long-term, sustainable results — not just short-term change.

Many clients begin to feel a difference within the first 2–3 weeks of consistent practice.

Early changes often include:

  • Improved core engagement and body awareness
  • Reduced tension and better posture
  • Feeling stronger and more in control of movement

Visible results — such as increased muscle tone and improved definition — typically develop over 4–8 weeks, depending on your consistency and lifestyle.

At CORE.FORM, our structured and progressive approach is designed to deliver sustainable, long-term results, not quick fixes.

Your ideal class frequency depends on your goals, fitness level, and lifestyle.

As a general guideline:

  • 2–3 classes per week is ideal for building strength and consistency
  • 3–5 classes per week can accelerate results and improve overall fitness

The most important factor is consistency. A regular Reformer Pilates practice can help improve strength, flexibility, posture, and overall wellbeing.

Pilates can be beneficial for managing and preventing back pain when performed correctly.

It focuses on:

  • Strengthening core muscles that support the spine
  • Improving posture and alignment
  • Increasing mobility and flexibility

However, if you have existing back pain or injuries, we recommend:

  • Informing your instructor before class
  • Consulting a healthcare professional if needed

Our instructors can provide modifications to support your needs safely.
